Name Dobermann
Editor Canal Plus Multimedia
Year 1997
Compatibility Sony Playstation
Language Language C, C++
Comments Game adapted from the French movie "Dobermann" - I hate Jan Kounen so I boycotted the movie but I wrote the game for the Sony Playstation.

Original version was meant to run on a PC 1Ghz - No use to say there was some optimization required to adapt the code for the Sony Playstation - I rewrote everything I could - at the end the Playstation version was the fastest ;-)

Interactive Television

Digital Set Top Boxes are really not meant to play games. Writing games on this platform is a little bit like writing a game for a 12 year old computer. Not much memory, slowest CPU and loading data from a satellite feed is about as fast as loading from a floppy 3.5 - On the bright side, it's up to the engineer to be smart enough and make the difference...

The difference on such a platform can be tremendous - A carrousel of 4 games can loop in 120 seconds or in 30 seconds depending on who's writing the code :-)
